Before Fame

He is from Paterson, New Jersey. His mother coached him in Basketball throughout his youth. He attended Rutgers University. Despite earning a four-star ranking as a high school recruit, his only offers to play college basketball at Power Five programs came from Rutgers and the University of Nebraska.

Trivia

He helped lead Rutgers University basketball team to their first NCAA Tournament in 30 years when he was a junior. He went un-drafted in the 2022 NBA draft, and instead signed a two-way contract with the Toronto Raptors. While at Rutgers, he hit a game winning shot against a #1 ranked Purdue team to help seal the Scarlet Knights' first win over a team ranked #1.
