English soap opera actor known for playing Ryan Connor on the ITV series Coronation Street along with his roles as Flynn Buchanan on Emmerdale in 2011 and Liam Slade on Doctors in 2013 and 2018.

Before fame

He studied drama at Southport College before earning a scholarship to the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. He graduated in 2010 with a BA (Hons) in acting. He made his television debut in 2011 on Marchlands and appeared in three episodes as Mark Ashburn. He guest-starred on Holby City that same year and also landed a recurring role on Emmerdale as Flynn Buchanan and appearing in 12 episodes. He continued building his career with roles in The Syndicate in 2013, Doctors in 2013, Vampire Academy in 2014, and Casualty in 2014. His career breakthrough came in 2018 when he joined Coronation Street.

Trivia

He took part in a stage production of Dante's Inferno: A Modern Telling in 2015 after stepping into the role during production. He gained major attention in 2023 for a Coronation Street storyline where his character was the victim of an acid attack which earned him critical acclaim. He prepared for that storyline by speaking with real-life survivors. He has been nominated for multiple awards including Best Leading Performer at the 2023 British Soap Awards and Best Actor at the 2023 Inside Soap Awards. He has attended the Cannes Film Festival.

Family life

He was born and raised in Southport, England. He has been in a relationship with actress Amy Lythgoe.
