Sadettin Saran

About

Turkish American entrepreneur, sports executive, former national swimmer, and media and multimedia magnate known for founding and leading Saran Holding which is a Turkish media, aviation, tourism and sports-business group. He is also known for being the 38th President of the Turkish sports club Fenerbahçe S.K and for his Instagram page which has amassed over 1.1 million followers.

Before Fame

He developed an early interest in sports and as a teenager he pursued swimming intensely. He secured a sports scholarship to the University of Kentucky in the US where he studied mechanical engineering. He became captain of the university's swimming team before captaining Turkey's national swimming team in 1984-85. He founded Saran Holding in 1990.

Trivia

He set a Turkish national swimming record in the 50-meter freestyle while still a young athlete. He is fluent in Turkish, English, and Spanish and knows intermediate German. He is the first dual citizen to become President of Fenerbahçe.

Family Life

His full name is Steven Sadettin Saran. He was born in Denver, Colorado, to a Turkish father and an American mother. He has three younger brothers. He moved from the US to Turkey when he was two years old and was raised in Turkey. He has a daughter named Lal.
