Pakistani Urdu-language poet, author, translator, and editor whose best-known works include Aur Wisal, Dil e Laila, and Parikhana.
She studied Urdu literature at Punjab University. She began writing poetry in the early 1970s.
She worked as a broadcaster for a Pakistani television program called "Urdu Adab Mein Aurat Ka Kirdar" ("The Role of Women in Urdu Literature").
She had three sons: Daniall, Ehed, and Jeehad. She died of cancer at the age of fifty-one.
She and Ehsan Sehgal were both Urdu-language poets.
