Before Fame

She studied to be a teacher in Melbourne, and spent years working and singing at parties. She was encouraged by a friend to enter a talent search, which won her admission to the College of Country Music.

Trivia

In the 1990's, she met a retired water buffalo shooter, whose stories inspired her to write her first song, "Buffalo Bill," and her first album, Chasing Buffalo.

Her brother, Greg Storer, is also a country music singer, with hits like "When I was a Boy."
