Shalani Tharaka

Sri Lankan actress and model who is known for both hear feature film performances and her recurring television roles. She is known for having starred at the titular character in the 2018 film Nela and for also having starred in several ITN shows including Sanda Hangila and Haras Paara. 

Before Fame

She went to college and studied both Western and Kandyan styles of dancing. She then went on to win the Sirasa Kumariya beauty pageant in 2007 which started her career as a model. Her acting debut came in 2009 when she starred as Subha on the television series Poojasanaya. 

Trivia

She is also known for having participated as a contestant on the second season of the Sirasa TV reality competition series Sirasa Dancing Stars. 

Family Life

She was born and raised in Balangoda by her mother Suraji Fernando who was a beautician and cosmetic artist. 

Associated With

She starred alongside Dilhani Ekanayake and Roshan Ranawana in the 2015 horror film Spandana.
