U.S. figure skater who won Olympic gold at Nagano in 1998, setting a record for the youngest gold medalist at the WInter Olympics at the age of just 15.
She began ice skating in 1988, but initially started as a roller skater. She had her first major competition in 1990 where she finished second.
She won the World Championships in 1997 as well as the Grand Prix Final in both 1997 and 1998.
The daughter of a secretary and oil man, she and her mother moved to Delaware to continue her ice skating training. She married Fox Sports producer Todd Kapostasy in 2017.
Fellow American skater Michelle Kwan also medalled at the 1998 Olympics.
