Award-winning film director who is best known by his directing work in the 1950's film Horror of Dracula. He has also gained recognition from his directing work in the films Four Sided Triangle, The Curse of Frankenstein and Man in Hiding. In addition to directing, he has also received credits as a screenwriter and editor. 

Before Fame

Prior to working in the film industry, he served in the British Merchant Navy. He eventually earned his first job in the film industry during the 1930's.

Trivia

He is often credited as being the first film director and editor to introduce horror films in color. In 2010, his film Horror of Dracula was named 'Greatest Horror Film' ever created by The Guardian magazine.
