About

Australian boxer of Iranian descent known for making history as Australia's first Muslim female boxer to compete at both the Commonwealth and Olympic Games. She represented Australia at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and the 2024 Paris Olympics. 

Before Fame

She initially worked as a makeup artist. Her boxing Olympic journey began in 2017 when she sought a new fitness challenge beyond traditional gym workouts. She attended a women's boxing class in Western Sydney which ignited her passion for the sport. She dedicated herself to training while also still working as a makeup artist and quickly ascended the amateur ranks. She made her professional boxing debut in 2019. She won her first medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Trivia

She is recognized for entering the ring wearing a hijab, long sleeves, and tights. She challenges traditional boxing attire norms and advocates for inclusivity in sports. She secured a gold medal at the Pacific Games in 2023. She has trained at the Brotherhood Boxing Club in Western Sydney.

Family Life

She was born and raised in Westmead, New South Wales, Australia. Her family has been very supportive of her boxing career.
