Before Fame

He started playing the guitar when he was 9 years old. His passion for music led him to perform in bands when he was a teenager. He earned a degree in film scoring from Berklee College of Music. He then attended the University of Southern California's Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television program. He worked at Cyberia Inc. early in his career, which is a division of Hans Zimmer's Media Ventures. He composed music for television commercials and learned from experienced composers like Hans ZimmerHarry Gregson-Williams, and John Powell

He received a Primetime Emmy nomination for co-composing the miniseries Hatfields & McCoys with John Debney. He also earned multiple Daytime Emmy nominations for his work on Elena of Avalor. He received an Annie Award nomination for Outstanding Achievement for Music in an Animated Television/Broadcast Production for his work on Elena of Avalor in 2019. He has composed scores for multiple Mickey Mouse movies.
