Forward who won the IHSAA Class 4A State Championship and was voted Indiana Mr. Basketball his senior season at Arsenal Technical High School. He helped the University of Kentucky win 38 straight games and reach the Final Four during the 2014-15 NCAA season, then was selected 12th overall in the 2015 NBA Draft by the Utah Jazz.
He was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and later moved to Indianapolis, Indiana to attend Arsenal Tech.
He has played for both Canada and the United States Internationally. At the 2013 FIBA Under-19 World Championship, he led Canada to a sixth-place finish, the country's best-ever performance in the tournament to that point.
His parents are Thomas and Jasenka Lyles.
He was teammates with star forward Karl-Anthony Towns at Kentucky.
