He worked small jobs and explored multiple academic paths before committing to business and entertainment. His real name is Dr. Vernon Wiggins. He was born and raised in Washington, Louisiana, as the fourth of five children in a working-class family. He was raised by a mother who worked as a nurse and a father who worked as a mechanic.
