Before Fame

Her pseudonym, Vanukee, is a combination her first name, Van, and an animal she loves: the Tanuki, the Japanese raccoon dog. Before making a live-streaming channel for her content, she worked as a rank lead for a restaurant in a 5-star hotel. As a child, she dreamed of one day opening her own restaurant, but has shifted gears to build her social media empire.

Family Life

She has Vietnamese parents, and was adopted by a French couple to live in Paris along with her older brother. She has been to Vietnam on three separate trips. While she reports being Facebook friends with her parents, their relationship is not close due to neither of them speaking the other's language.
