Before fame
He began studying music at a young age. He learned to read music when he was 6 years old and chose the saxophone when he was 12 years old after seeing it played at school. He was already performing with bands by his early teens. He began writing and producing his own music when he was 17 years old. He released his debut EP VENOLOGY in September 2021. He released his debut studio album MALIK in September 2025.

He is best known for playing tenor sax, but he has also been seen performing on alto sax in studio sessions and live recordings. He won a Grammy Award for his contribution to Burna Boy's Twice As Tall when he was just 21 years old.
