He became known for playing the title characters in both the 1988 film Willow and in the Leprechaun franchise. He also portrayed the Ewok Wicket in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, played Professor Fillus Flitwick and Griphook in the Harry Potter films, and played Nikabrik in The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.

Before Fame

He watched Star Wars incessantly growing up. He earned his Star Wars job after responding to a radio ad calling for people who were around four feet tall.


His dwarfism is a result of an extremely rare condition called spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita, as opposed to the more common achlasia.

Family Life

His father was an insurance broker and he has a younger sister. He married his girlfriend Samantha, who has achlasia. He has three sons named Lloyd, Harrison, and George and a daughter named Annabelle.
