In 2019, he graduated from Eastside High School, South Carolina. He sang in the youth choir at Taylors Baptist Church. He learned to play the piano as a child.
Trivia
During 2020 quarantine, he learned to play the theme of Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. In the summer of 2021, he began writing and making his own music. Prior to his debut on Idol, he was in the Air Force Reserved Officers' Training Corps. He wanted to become a pilot.
