NFL quarterback who helped lead the San Francisco 49ers to the NFC Championship Game following the 2011 season. He played for the Kansas City Chiefs from 2013 to 2017 before a trade sent him to the Washington Redskins.
He starred collegiately for the University of Utah and was selected first overall in the 2005 NFL Draft.
In 2018, he suffered a devastating leg injury, fracturing his tibia and fibula and seemingly ending his NFL career. However, he made a remarkable recovery, returned to the league in 2020 and went on to win the league's Comeback Player of the Year award.
He has a son named Hudson with his wife Elizabeth Barry.
He took the San Francisco 49ers to within one game of making the Super Bowl, but they lost to Eli Manning in overtime of the 2012 NFC title game.
