Before fame

He formally teamed up with producer Vidal Davis in 2000 forming the duo Dre & Vidal. His big break came in 2005 when he produced for both Usher and Alicia Keys albums Confessions and The Diary of Alicia Keys and both won awards at the 2005 Grammy Awards.
