Canadian-American journalist and writer who has been a Dateline NBC correspondent since 2012 and is a fill-in anchor on Today and Weekend Today. She has also contributed to other NBC news platforms such as NBC Nightly News and MSNBC. She is a writer for the Hallmark channel and Lifetime movies. 

Before Fame

She graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1994 with a degree in psychology. She attended Ryerson Polytechnic University where she studied radio and television arts. In the early years of her career she worked for news stations in Cincinnati and Florida. 

Trivia

She is part of the international women's fraternity Alpha Gamma Delta. In February of 2011 she interviewed Charlie Sheen for 20/20 and the video went viral, racking up over 10 million views in its first nine days on YouTube. She has appeared as a news anchor in the Ruby Herring Mystery movie series. Her andreacanning Instagram page has a following of 60,000. She shares family photos as well as shots with TV personalities and celebrities like Amanda Seyfried. 

Family Life

She is married to Lt. Col Tony Bancroft, USMCR, an F/A-18 instructor pilot. Together they have five daughters and one son. They have a black cat and a tan dog. They live in Westchester, New York. She was born in Blue Mountain, Ontario and grew up in Collingwood.
