Former Italian midfielder who became a member of Serie A club Juventus in 2011 after spending a decade with AC Milan. He joined the Italian national team in 2002 and helped lead the team to victory at the 2006 World Cup.
He began playing with the team Brescia when he was 16 years old.
He led AC Milan to Serie A titles in 2004 and 2011 and helped Juventus win Serie A titles in each of his first two years with the club.
He had a son named Niccolo and a daughter named Angela with Deborah Roversi, whom he was married to from 2001 until 2014. In 2017, he welcomed twins, Leonardo and Tommaso, with Valentina Baldani.
He won the 2006 World Cup Championship alongside star goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon.
