Member of the Boston Symphony Orchestra for almost thirty years and who was the first trumpeter to record Johann Nepomuk Hummel's 'Trumpet Concerto.'
He decided on becoming a trumpeter at the age of eight and, after serving in the U.S. Navy, he attended the Juilliard School.
He held positions at many music programs, such as those at Rice University and the Tanglewood Music Center.
He grew up in Knoxville, Illinois.
Both he and Beverly Bower performed with the New York City Opera.
