He began working as a feature writer and editor for the Morning Star and Sunday Star-News a New York Times paper before focusing his career on working for various centers dedicated to his grandfather and his grandfather's legacy.

He performed the role of his grandfather in stage performances of the 1975 play Give 'em Hell, Harry! He appeared on the show Race for the White House in the year 2016 to talk about his grandfather's experiences during WWII.

Family Life

He was born and raised in Manhattan, New York. He is the oldest grandson of former President Harry S. Truman and First Lady Bess Truman. His father was E. Clifton Daniel Jr., former managing editor of The New York Times. His mother was mystery writer Margaret Truman Daniel. He married Polly Bennett in 1986, on the 67th wedding anniversary of his grandparents. He has three children.
