Before Fame
She began to excel in high school where she became a twenty-two time Mississippi high school track and field state champion. She then went on to run for the University of Florida.
Trivia
She has received several awards and honors for her running including placing first at the USA Junior Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon in the 1500 meters event in 2010.

She was born and raised in Pass Christian, Mississippi but moved to Boston, Massachusetts to pursue a career in the running.
