About

Korean American songwriter, rapper, and music creative known for writing songs for K-pop artists including BLACKPINK's "How You Like That" and "Pink Venom" and Somi's "Dumb Dumb." He is also known for being the singing and rapping voice of Baby Saja in Netflix's KPop Demon Hunters.

Before fame

He began his music career as a rapper under the stage name Decipher and released music independently during the late 2000s and early 2010s, including the projects The Cause in 2010 and The Effect in 2011. He moved to Seoul and joined THEBLACKLABEL as a songwriter in the late 2010s. His big break came through his work with BLACKPINK starting in 2019.

Trivia

He helped develop the music for KPop Demon Hunters from its early demos and co-wrote "How It's Done" and "Soda Pop" while also performing on "Soda Pop" and "Your Idol."

Family life

He was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and grew up in a Korean American family. His mother worked at Einstein Hospital in Philadelphia, and he has spoken about maintaining strong ties to his hometown even after moving to Seoul and eventually Bangkok for his career.
