After rising to prominence for her portrayal of Mrs. Tardebigge on the ITV soap opera Crossroads, she played Joan on The Famous Five, Aunt Florie on Harry and the Wrinklies, and Noreen on Benidorm.
Before fame
A stage performer and director as well as a screen actress, she headed the Birkenhead Operatic Society Trust beginning in the early 1970s.
Trivia
Apart from her acting career, she taught vocal music at Liverpool's Elliott-Clarke School. She appeared in over 100 episodes of television throughout her long career.
