American R&B and neo-soul singer-songwriter and actor best known for hits such as "Spend My Life with You," "Sometimes I Cry," and "Love Don't Love Me." Outside of his work in music, he has also acted in both television and film. He featured in a recurring role on the NBC sitcom For Your Love and his starring performance in the 2011 film Trinity Goodheart earned him a Best Actor nomination at the 2012 Black Reel Awards.

He was the youngest born of five total siblings. He was initially encouraged by his father, who was a police officer, to pursue a steady career. After graduating from Milwaukee Trade and Technical High School, he enrolled in college; however, he ultimately dropped out to pursue his passion as a musical artist. Prior to the launch of his career as a solo artist, he performed with a group called Gerard. He also performed with a family musical group called Benét, which featured his sister Lisa and cousin George Nash Jr.

His single "Spend My Life," which was a collaborative effort with Tamia, reached #1 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart in 1999. The song helped him earn a NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Song in 2000 and was nominated for a Grammy Award. He has also received numerous other Grammy and NAACP Image Award nominations and in 2002, his single "Love Don't Love Me," from the romantic comedy film The Brothers, won Best Original or Adapted Song at the Black Reel Awards.
Family Life
He was married to Academy Award-winning actress Halle Berry between the years of 2001 and 2005. He later remarried Manuela Testolini in 2011. Together, they share two daughters named Lucia Bella and Amoura Luna. He also has an older daughter named India Brianne Jordan from a previous relationship.
