He was drafted by the New York Yankees during the 20th round in 2019, however he chose to attend college instead.
Trivia
On March 20, 2021, he pitched his first colligate no-hitter during his SEC debut against South Carolina. He recorded 16 strikeouts in the process.

He is a native of Summit, N.J. His father, Al Leiter, was a three-time World Series winning pitcher as a member of the Toronto Blue Jays and the Miami Marlins. His uncle, Mark Leiter, was also a pitcher.
