American professional basketball player best known for playing as a point guard/shooting guard for the NBA's Philadelphia 76ers, while on a two-way contract with the NBA G League's Delaware Blue Coats. He was originally drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 1st round with the 17th overall pick of the 2023 NBA draft. Prior to joining the league, he was named a five-star and four-star recruit and one of the top players of the 2022 collegiate class, while playing for the Hoosiers at Indiana State University.
Before Fame
He played a successful high school basketball career, during which time he was the recipient of back-to-back GEICO High School Basketball National titles in 2021 and 2022. After initially committing to play for the University of Pittsburgh, he recommitted to Indiana State in August 2021. He became the 9th highest-ranked recruit for the Hoosiers since 1998 and the highest-rated recruit to sign with them since Romeo Langford in 2018.
Trivia
While playing for Indiana State University, he was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year and third-team All-Big Ten. During a January 2023 game against Northwestern University, he scored 33 points, the most achieved by a freshman at the school since Eric Gordon in 2007. He later also made Indiana State history with a freshman-record 35 points in a February 2023 game against Purdue University.

He was raised in an athletic family that included his mother, Adrianne "Angel" Hood-Schifino, who played basketball at Lock Haven University, and Glenn Hood, who was a quarterback at Santa Monica College.
