Known for his work in such Hindi films as Bachna Ae Haseeno and Jhankaar Beats, this award-winning Indian playback vocalist also released several solo albums, including Pal and Humsafar. He was the 2012 recipient of the Eenam-Swaralaya Singer of the Year Award.
He studied business at Delhi University's Kirori Mal College and briefly worked in marketing before beginning his singing career.
Though best known for his Hindi-language songs, he also performed in Kannada, Malayalam, Bengali, Telugu, and Tamil films.
Born Krishnakumar Kunnath and better known as KK, he grew up in New Delhi, India. His marriage to Jyothy Krishna resulted in a daughter named Taamara and a son named Nakul.
He was inspired by the music and career of fellow Bollywood singer Kishore Kumar.
