Martin Braithwaite

Danish forward who debuted for the Danish national team in 2013. He began his club career with Esbjerg fB in 2009 and he played for FC Barcelona from 2020 to 2022. 

Before Fame

From ages five to seven, he was confined to a wheelchair because of Legg-Calvé-Perthes, a hip disorder that could have lead to deformities in his femur. He always wanted to be a soccer player and has said that he had no plan b. 

Trivia

He made Denmark's squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. 

Family Life

He married French journalist and TV personality Anne-Laure Louis Braithwaite. Together they had two sons and he is the step-father to her two children from a previous marriage. He has a younger sister named Mathilde.

He has been called Lionel Messi's wingman by CNN. He played the 2020 season with Frenkie de Jong, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Nelson Semedo, among other teammates on the Barcelona team.
