She started her career as a journalist working for the TV news program SAMAA TV. She then started her career with the Dunya News network as an anchorperson.

She is also known for having had a brief career as a swimmer and competed as part of the Pakistani National Swimming Team.

She was born and raised in Pakistan and married fellow journalist and reporter Kashif Abbasi.
