Scottish singer and multi-instrumentalist best known for fronting the folk-rock band The Waterboys and releasing solo albums like 1995's Bring 'Em All In. He has won acclaim from critics and fans for his eclecticism, having switched genres multiple times throughout his career.

Before Fame

He grew up in Edinburgh, Scotland. He cites hearing Hank Williams for the first time as one of his biggest inspirations to pursue music.

Trivia

In 2003, he created his own record label, Puck Records. The label has put out several of The Waterboys' albums.

He got engaged to Japanese artist Megumi Igarashi. He has a daughter named Lila-Elodie with singer Camille O'Sullivan.
