American operatic soprano celebrated for playing leading parts such as Gilda in Rigoletto by Giuseppe Verdi and the titular role in Lucia di Lammermoor by Gaetano Donizetti. She has also regularly appeared at renowned venues including the Metropolitan Opera, Teatro alla Scala, and the Opéra National de Paris. Before Fame
She began taking vocal lessons when she was around six years old. By the time she was only fourteen, she had joined the young-artist program of Palm Beach Opera. She later went on to study at the Mannes College of Music in NY and participated in the Adler Fellowship at San Francisco Opera.
Trivia
In 2013, she won the 1st Prize and People's Choice Award at the Neue Stimmen competition. She won the prestigious Richard Tucker Award in 2017. The following year, she received the Beverly Sills Artists Award. She made her debut at the Royal Opera House in London as Adina in L'elisir d'amore. During the 2024-25 season, she portrayed Violetta in La Traviata and Maria in a concert rendition of West Side Story.
Family Life
Her mother, who works at a bank, is of Portuguese descent while her father, a firefighter, is Puerto Rican with Italian heritage. She has two sisters.
Associated With
She attended the Music Academy of the West, where she trained with Marilyn Horne and became the youngest person to ever win the Marilyn Horne Foundation Vocal Competition. In 2017, she toured with Andrea Bocelli.
