Stage actor and singer who appeared in Broadway productions of Sondheim on Sondheim, Les Misérables, and Porgy and Bess. He also was the titular role in Broadway's longstanding production of Phantom of the Opera. He received a Tony Award nomination in 2012.
Prior to becoming an actor, he worked for the Orlando Sentinel newspaper. He made his Broadway debut in the 1993 production of The Who's Tommy.
He appeared on such television shows as Scandal and All My Children.
He was born and raised in Florida, and he later settled in New York.
He was in the 2006 Broadway revival of Les Miserables, which starred Daphne Rubin-Vega as Fantine.
