Puerto Rican poet, author, and academic known for her historical and feminist-themed works. Her works include El Castillo de la Memoria (historical novel), De lo familiar (poems), and Unicamente mio (poems).
She attended Manhattanville College, where she studied literature and biology.
She taught for twenty years at Puerto Rico's Metropolitan University.
She was married to Carlos Conde and gave birth to two children prior to her divorce.
