Former rugby center who played from 1970 to 1985 for Llanelli RFC, the Barbarians, the Wales national team, and the British Lions.
He attended Burry Port Secondary Modern School and Carmarthen Grammar School.
He went on to have a broadcasting and acting career after his playing days were over.
He raised two daughters, Manon and Gwenan.
During Wales' match against France in 2008, Neil Jenkins and other Welsh players wore Gravell's number 13 to honor his career.
