Before fame
He studied forensic psychology at Walsh University and initially hoped to become an FBI profiler. He took an EMT course which led him to become a firefighter and paramedic, but he retired following a back injury and eventually became a stay-at-home father.
Trivia
He launched The Autism Dad Podcast in April 2018. He authored the book So Your Child Was Just Diagnosed with Autism. He began blogging about his family in 2009 and launched The Autism Dad name in August 2015.
Family life
He is the oldest of six siblings and grew up with four brothers and one sister. His three sons are named Gavin, Elliott, and Emmett.
