Caribbean-British drummer who played with the rock band Showaddywaddy.
He was born in St. John's, Antigua in the West Indies, and he later relocated to England.
He secured an early drumming gig with Black Widow, a British hard rock band.
His daughter, Tamzin Challenger, also pursued a career in music and his athlete son, Ben Challenger, won a 1998 silver medal in the high jump event at the Commonwealth Games.
He and Peter Shilton were both members of the Leicester Boys' football team. Shilton later became a professional footballer.
