MLB Hall of Fame lefty pitcher who was a 17-time All-Star and the 1957 Cy Young Award winner. He spent most of his career with the Boston and Milwaukee Braves and helped lead the franchise to a World Series Championship in 1957.

He began his MLB career with the Boston Braves in 1942, then served in the US Army before returning to the Braves in 1946.
