Founded as the Drexel Institute of Art, Science and Industry and renamed as Drexel Institute of Technology between 1936 and 1970, the private research university offers a unique cooperative education program to students in which they can gain up to 18 months of paid, full-time work experience in a field relevant to their studies.
Trivia
The school's founder was financier and philanthropist Anthony J. Drexel. The mascot's name is Mario the Magnificent.
