Based on a true story, this film depicts the story of a mother and daughter, aunt and cousin to former first lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, both named Edith Bouvier Beale. It pulls from the story of the 1975 documentary of the same name that featured the reclusive women's lives in their East Hampton mansion.
Trivia
During a few interviews, actress Drew Barrymore said she often stayed in character for her role throughout the entire filming stage of this movie. The film received an award for Outstanding Made for Television Movie during the 2009 Primetime Emmy Awards.
