Trivia
By 1983, a new process of bone marrow transplantation was developed and his sister donated her marrow to him. But complications arose and he was removed from the bubble for what would be the last two weeks of his life.

His parents were Carol Ann Vetter Demaret and David J. Vetter Jr. He had an older sister named Katherine. He had an older brother who died in 1970, just a few months after birth.
Associated With
A 1992 Seinfeld episode was inspired by his life. The episode featured the character George, played by Jason Alexander, and a bubble boy arguing over the results of a Trivial Pursuit game.
