Donna Karan New York (DKNY) celebrity designer of fashion and fragrances. She won the Council of Fashion Designers of America's Womenswear Award in 1990 and 1996 and Menswear honor in 1992.
She attended the Parsons School of Design following her 1966 graduation from Hewlet High School.
A philanthropist as well as a fashion designer, she donated money to the Beth Israel Medical Center to investigate the efficacy of yoga and meditation in the treatment of cancer.
After having a daughter named Gabby with her first husband, she married Stephan Weiss in 1983.
