Author of both picture books and novels for children and middle school readers who combines elements of fantasy and history into her work. Some notable titles of hers include Small Beauties, The Memory Coat and The Summer I Shrunk My Grandmother.
She spent one year each at both Adelphi University and Boston University as an English literature major.
Not discovering her gift for words until the age of 35, she went through life holding jobs including janitor, ice cream truck driver, baker, receptionist and more.
She was born in Raritan, New Jersey and lived a large portion of her life in Martins Creek, Pennsylvania. She has two sons with her ex-husband.
