Children's singer-songwriter and performer known for his fictional character Cri-Cri: The Little Singing Cricket. He had a prominent career from 1932 until he retired in 1962.
He studied astronomy at the National Observatory of Mexico.
Although he never pursued astronomy as a career, he remained engaged in the field and was inducted into Astronomical Society of Mexico. He built an observatory in Tultepec.
His parents are Tiburcio Gabilondo and Emilia Soler. He had two sons, Jorge Gabilondo Patiño and Tiburcio Gabilondo Gallego. He died of cardiac arrest on December 14, 1990.
A film about his life was made in 1963, starring Ignacio Lopez Tarso.
