Jamaican dancehall DJ, reggae artist, and producer known for 1990s dancehall hits such as "Granny," "Pianist," "When I Hold You Tonight," "Traffic Blocking," "Bodyguard," "Papa Lover," and "Boom Boom" along with albums including Granny, P'N'S, Bush Baby, Fi Real, Snapple Dapple Vol. 1, Feeling Irie, and From the 90s.
Before fame
He worked as a tailor before moving from Manchester to Kingston, Jamaica to pursue music. He began performing on sound systems and took inspiration from artists such as Professor Nuts, Lieutenant Stitchie, and General Trees. His big break came in 1992 when "Granny" became his first number one hit for Main Street producer Danny Browne, and he released his debut album Granny in 1992.
Trivia
He has also recorded and produced music under the name Snapple Dapple. He launched a clothing line called Reh Geh in 2006. He was a judge on Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall in 2008.
Family life
His real name is Cardiff Butt. He was born and raised in Manchester, Jamaica and grew up with strict Christian parents.

His 1997 song "Traffic Blocking" was released on the same riddim that Nicki Minaj eventually used for her 2019 song "Megatron."
