Starred in the TV series Hart of Dixie from 2011 to 2015 and played her first prominent film role in 2001's Pearl Harbor. Her other film credits include Sin City, White Chicks and Cheaper by the Dozen 2. In 2019, she began starring in Netflix's Black Summer.

Before Fame

As a teenager, she was addicted to heroin, but immediately stopped after the death of her boyfriend.

She adopted the nickname James because another model at Vogue was named Jamie.

Family Life

She married Kyle Newman in 2007. Together they have two sons, James Knight Newman born in 2013, and Leo Thames, born in 2015. They divorced in 2023. She and her ex-boyfriend Sennett Devermont shared their first Instagram photo together in August 2021. In 2024, she began dating investor Austin Sosa. The couple announced their engagement in July 2025.
