Hong Kong pop singer, actress, and social media personality known for hit songs such as "Love Paradise," "Notebook," "Who Would Let Go," I Don't Love You Enough," "Best Position," "It's All Your Fault," and "The Fragrance of Memory." Before fame
She spent part of her teenage years studying in Japan. She moved to the United States after high school to attend the Parsons School of Design in New York and she studied graphic design. Her entry into entertainment happened unexpectedly while she still a student. She appeared in television commercials in 1994 including advertisements for HSBC and Shanghai Beer. She also appeared in a music video for Jacky Cheung for his song "Stolen Heart" which introduced her to the Hong Kong entertainment industry. Her official breakthrough came in 1995 when she made her acting debut in the film Whatever Will Be, Will Be and also released her first Cantonese album Intoxicated Lover. She released her first Mandarin album I Don't Think So in 1996.

She has released music in multiple languages including Cantonese, Mandarin, English, and Japanese. She established the Kelly Chen Children Education Fund in 2002 which is a charity that supports education programs for children from disadvantaged families. She was the highest earning female Hong Kong celebrity of 2014. She released the album Gratitude in 2025.
Family life
She was born and raised in Hong Kong where she attended local schools before continuing her education abroad. She has an older sister and a younger brother. She married Alex Lau Kin Ho in October 2008. She has two sons.
