Her enthusiasm for acting emerged after she say a show at the Royal Exchange Theatre at the age of 15 or 16. She began attending the Arts Ed Drama School at 18. She was featured in two episodes of Doctor Who in 2013. She also appeared in three episodes of The Guilty that year.
She was once fired from a temp job for refusing to wear high heels. She had previously screen tested for the role of Kate Connor for Coronation Street a couple years before booking her part.
Her parents ran a rock factory in Blackpool called Stanton and Novelty Confectioners.
She screen tested with Connor McIntyre when she auditioned for the part of Nicola Rubinstein in Coronation Street.
