American singer best known for making up half of the famed vocal duo Patience and Prudence, along with her older sister, Patience Ann McIntyre. The duo rose to stardom in the late 1950s with hit songs such as "Gonna Get Along Without Ya Now" and "All I Do is Dream of You." Their rendition of "Tonight You Belong to Me" reached the #4 spot on Billboard charts in 1956 and would go on to become one of Liberty Records' biggest sellers of the era.

Before fame

She and her older sister, Patience, began playing the piano and reading music from an early age. Together, they recorded a demo in 1956, when she was only 11 years old, that would ultimately lead to their signing with Liberty Records.

She and her older sister, Patience, were raised by their father, Mark McIntyre, who was an orchestra leader, pianist, and songwriter with experience working alongside celebrated names including Frank Sinatra.
